I bought this pedal to use as a buffer. I tried it as a boost and found it to be, to my ears, louder and brighter than the zvex super hard on boost. The buffer when sitting at the beginning of the signal chain works by increasing fidelity, however, at the end of the signal chain the buffer increases white noise. Nice pedal, very loud, something special.
