Mighty Mite Telecaster Replacement Guitar Neck - Maple Fingerboard Review
I finally gave up on trying to straighten the neck on the Jay Turser Telecaster that I had picked up cheap. I had already upgraded the pickups (Nocaster '51s), rewired & replaced the switches, and replaced the tuning machines, but I could not get rid of a buzz in the neck. I had already put more money into the project than planned, but I ponied up another $90 for the Mighty Mite Telecaster Replacement Neck w/Maple Fingerboard. Apparently I should have started with replacing the neck! From the second I tightened the final bolt and installed the last tuning machine the 'project' has been complete. Now I did have to do a final sanding with 600-grit sandpaper and then spray 5 coats of a nitro finish (I used Deft Clear Wood Finish semi-gloss that I picked up at the local Woodcraft store), but once installed, the Tele was ready to go - WOW! This neck is so smooth and perfect. I only had to lower the action about 1/8" and haven't stopped playing since. And to think of all the time I could have saved trying to fix the old neck by just buying the Mighty Mite neck to start the project rather than as the final piece! Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Mighty Mite Telecaster Replacement Guitar Neck - Maple Fingerboard" are high quality item.
