Classic dual overdrive. The original 1969 plug-in Muff Fuzz had just a touch of overdrive and sounded like a vintage amp with a slightly worn speaker. We paired two of these together in one box to create the Double Muff. Use just one Muff for a hint of milky distortion, or cascade the second Muff for over-the-top overdrive that turns the milk into cream.

This is the best fuzz pedal built today in this price range (or even double it). This gives you some nice flexibility from a nice subtle fuzz to lovely nasty fuzzy nirvana (the place not the band, though there are some similarities).

It's important to note that this is not so much a pure distortion pedal, fuzz and distortion are two different things (though they are often interrelated). Fuzz is to Distortion as Nirvana (the band not the place) is to Metallica. Though to be fair Kurt Cobain used a Big Muff ? which has a big more distortion characteristics then the Double Muff. A more classic fuzz sound was of course Jimi Hendrix.

Anyway. That said. Great Fuzz pedal. Highly recommended.

Why only 4 Stars though? The classic germanium AC128 transistor fuzz pedals had the potential to sound better (the AC128 quality was highly variable so some sounded great other sounded real bad. ) You can still get some similarly made pedals today (most of them are expensive, yet they have also tested and matched the transistors for the best sound). Those get 5 stars, but they as I mentioned they are hard to find and cost lots o' cash.
